The Tofino experience

Tofino is in a rainforest.  It's paradise in many ways, but one of the ways that it's not paradise is that you just can't predict the weather.  Which means that if one were to plan, say, a one week vacation, one could end up with a week of rain and miserable wind.  On the other hand, one could have some luck.
On my first summer in the area, in Bamfield, it rained only one day over 6 weeks.
This year again, we were lucky.  We had 30 degree weather both days.

Checking out the beach as the morning mist burned away.
The crowds were a bit of a drag.
A phantom shadow and miles of empty beach.
Tofino is a town of interesting characters.  Many are surfer dudes, but there are also all sorts of locals.
Our Air BNB was awesome - right across from the beach.
One of our hosts at the apartment.
Enjoying locally made ice cream and chocolate at Chocolate Tofino.
 Sunset after dinner.
On our last day it was a little cooler as we woke up.  The kids went for a race on the beach.
The receding tide left some ripples.
Driving back to Nanaimo.  Emma finally had enough and fell asleep in her seat.
If you didn't have a reservation for the ferry there was a two sailing wait (~4 hours).  We had a reservation :)
 The view crossing to Vancouver.
