Oscar's 9th

Well, here's for changing plans!
Originally I was only supposed to have the kids for the evening, which still ain't half bad.  We had kicked around the idea of going to the neighbourhood fancy pants restaurant, which Oscar said he wanted to try.  But I thought about it: while I certainly wouldn't skimp on my kid's birthday, I'm sure there are more fun ways for a 9 year old to spend his time than eating some pretentious food in a condescending atmosphere.
And here's where the inspiration grabbed me right in the feelies!  The Old Forum in Montreal has been converted into an urban fun land.  It has a movie theatre, bowling, an arcade...  Plus all that Habs memorabilia.  It's like a Sports Hall of Fun!

Oscar playing himself Happy Birthday on the kazoo.  (It gets old surprisingly quickly.)

A bit of bowling.  Turns out Danger is not good at bowling :(

Supper was supposed to be Kinka Izakawa but unfortunately they changed their license from restaurant to bar, and they bounced my kids at the door.  So it was off to Big in Japan which was more relaxed, more fun, more smiles, and enough food for leftovers tomorrow.
