It's a Fishel.

Montreal - Ariane Moffat
Totally natural
Le soleil inonde le terminal
Le dub fait danser mes scandales
En format original
Je rentre à Montréal

Visit to Canada

Just before Grandma and Grandpa came for their first visit, Emma and mom were in Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec visiting other friends and family. Here Emma is on the train back from Ottawa, where she probably picked up the Norwalk virus that landed her in the hospital in Quebec city just before mom's friend Nat's wedding.

As you can see, she was in good spirits in spite of it all. And mom and Emma were kind enough to bring the bug back to Germany to share with dad.

Lazy day in Tuscany

Can't be a grandchild without an A in your name.

I'm sure it's just a weird coincidence, but all of the latest crop of our family have at least one A in their first name, including cousin Kaya, who's trying to corner the market. Here are kAyA, mAlA, and emmA in ottAwA (whoops, getting carried away) during their first meeting.

Emmanuelle de la Mancha

He lives on the second floor.

When in Tuscany, why not take a little jaunt over to Lucca? Well, aside from about 30 miles of twisting Italian roads and obscure signage, you'd be crazy not to pop in for a look and a bite to eat. Lucca is an ancient Etruscan city which retains remnants of its Roman heritage including walls and an amphitheater (site of these photos). It's a cute town, but don't fool yourself into thinking you'll get there in half an hour. Lucca kept the walls to fend off the Florentines; though surely that's no longer an issue, they haven't exactly facilitated visitors with direct highway routes.

It was like that when we got there, honest.

Here's a little pic of Emma at Pisa. I didn't see any point in centering the photo...
And here she is with mom and the grand-parental units.

A word on the address

This blog is almost entirely for showing cute or funny photos of this chapter of the family to legion others in far flung parts. And since the central focus (at least for the coming months) is little Emma-Lou, I named the blog after three of her four first words. In fact, her first word was Mao (her dog's name), but since Mom and I found that a little hard to swallow, and given certain considerations of cadence, I decided to drop it in favour of words 2, 3, and 4.
