I know that sounds like a Tragically Hip quote, but really The Cowboy Junkies would be more appropriate: You can always see it coming, but you can never stop it.
Stomach Flu Alert
On Wednesday, Annick got home from work after me, so I was solo when Oscar threw up on himself in the high chair. As luck would have it, later in the evening, Annick was out shoveling, so I was again solo when Oscar threw up in his bed. She hurried in to monitor the bath while I changed his sheets.
In a continuing reversal of gender prejudices, Annick had urgent work (a court date) so I stayed home Thursday and changed a month's worth of diapers and cradled sickly Oskie in my arms. When I picked Emma up at daycare, she too was sick.
Today, when I got home from work, Annick was down with the flu. If she can get it, when I was the one changing the diapers and washing the sheets, then there's no way I'm going to avoid it.
I've been washing my hands, but if anyone has any antidotes or protective potions to suggest, I'm all ears.
